About Welcome
Geograff has a fantastic, sandbox style, approach to locations. Find a location you enjoy or visit regularly and add it to our database. Here you can tag it with words you find relevant and allow other people to see the what, where, why, and how of the location.
Locations can be rated, commented on and linked to journeys & users. This way you can keep track of what your friends are doing and where they go. Want to know where that trendy bar is in London? No problem, just check to see if it has been added or was tagged in a journey. This way you never have to worry about missing out on all the cool spots.
Added a spot and want to check its the right one. Not a problem either. Simply travel to the location you want and look for one of our custom QR codes. Snap it with your mobile and it brings you straight back to the mobile version of Geograff where you still have access to all the comments and info left by people.
Like locations, Geograff allows you complete freeform control over what you add. Using a GPS capture device like a mobile phone or training watch you can upload the captured files to plot on a map where and when you were.
Every location added to Geograff has a custom QR code created for it. This image can then be printed, taken to the location in question and placed in a responsible space. Anyone else who then comes past and snaps it with their mobile will be taken to that locations page can find ratings and comments for the site.
Geograff makes it easy to search for and find new places near you. Sinply set a home point for your account and all the nearby locations appear on your map. Want to find a new bar, restaurant or show, simply find a tag relating to your interests and follow it to find everywhere assicaited with it.
Perhaps you are looking to meet someone at a certain spot but are unsure where it is. Simply find that locations page on Geograff and check the map. Any comments left can be checked later on our dedicated wap site if you're on the move. Imagine you are meeting someone at a bar in the East end but are unsure if you are in the right spot. If a user has been before and tagged the spot then perhaps one of our QR codes is nearby. Simply snap it with your mobile and it brings you straight back to the mobile version of Geograff so the name can be checked.
Geograffs search abilities are entirely dictated by the user. Submitting a search query brings you a list of locations, journeys, tags, descriptions and everything else that matches your query. This makes it simple and effective to explore new areas.
There may be many times while exploring that you come across an area that you notice is lacking that one addition that makes the area what it is. If you find this to be the case, then go back and add that location. The best way to check if a location exists is to explore, but remember without adding your favourite hang outs there can be no exploring.
The Geograff wap site allows access to all the locations we currently host, as well as the ability to search via tags for similar locations. This means that if you ever come up short for something to do while out and about, simply head over to our WAP site and explore all kinds of exciting destinations.
Every location created has a QR code attached to it. When this is printed and placed in the location it relates to, other users can snap it with their mobile phones to be taken back to our WAP site with comments and information relating to that location.
This synergy between the web, wap and physical realms means that exploring new locations and experiences is never far away. Find someone elses tag and snap it. Discover what other people are doing, what they like and where they go without breaking from your daily routine. Unless ofcourse that is what you want to do.
Although the idea of the QR codes is to allow users to easily check where they are, you may want to use them for other uses. Perhaps you are trying to create a scavenger hunt or document a museums exhibits. Simply create a location for every use and use the QR code where needed. Users are always directed back to our WAP page where all the information they needed is within the palm of their hand.
